  • 1.5 cups basmati rice
  • 1/2 cup beans
  • Carrot
  • 1 potato
  • 1/2 cup peas

  • Ghee (optional)
  • 1 tbsp whole cumin seeds
  • 1 medium onion
  • A pinch of asafoetida
  • 1 piece cinnamon
  • 1 piece mace
  • 2 star anise
  • 1 large cardamom
  • 2 small cardamoms
  • 4 cloves
  • 7/8 black pepper
  • 1 medium tomato
  • 3/4 green chilli
  • salt to taste
  • 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1/2 tbsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tbsp kashmiri red chilli powder
  • 1 tbsp coriander powder
  • 1 tbsp cumin powder
  • 1/2 cup curd
  • 1 tbsp garam masala
  • chopped green fesh coriander

To make Veg Pulao, first wash the rice thoroughly with water and then add water and keep it to soak for half an hour.

Next we will cut the vegetables into small pieces and keep them in a plate.

You can add any vegetable of your choice, here I used carrots, potatoes, beans and peas.
Now put a cooker on gas and add 2 spoons of oil and 2 spoons of ghee in it.

As soon as the oil gets heated well, we will add cumin seeds and fry for a few seconds.

As soon as the cumin seeds start crackling, we will add chopped onion and a little asafoetida.

Fry everything for 1 minute.

Next we will add garam masala powder and fry it while mixing it well.

Now cover the cooker with lid and cook on medium flame till 1 whistle.
