Kokum Syrup Ingredients
- Kokum – 100 grams
- Salt – 1 teaspoon
- Sugar – 2 cups (450 grams)
- Black salt – 1 tablespoon
- Lemon juice – 2 tablespoons
- Cumin (roasted and ground) – 1 tablespoon
Steps to make Kokum Syrup
You will easily find kokum in the market but you have to take the seedless kokum.
First of all, soak the kokum in 1 cup of water for 3 hours.
Kokum will get soft after 3 hours.
Put the kokum along with the water in a mixie jar and make a smooth paste.
Now we will take 2 cups of sugar in a pan and add 1 cup of water along with it.
Now turn on the gas and let the sugar melt while stirring.
As soon as the sugar melts half, we will add the kokum paste.
After adding the paste, mix it well with the help of a ladle.
Will keep the gas flame medium.
After mixing for 1 minute, we will add black salt, regular salt and roasted cumin.
And cook while stirring for about 12 minutes.
You can also check by taking a little bit in your hand, if it looks sticky like honey then the syrup is ready.
Turn off the gas and put lemon juice in it, mix it.
Allow the syrup to cool, after cooling, filter the syrup with the help of a strainer.
