Ingredients for Masala Oats
- 1 cup oats
- 3 cups of water
- Oil 2 tbsp
- 5 to 6 curry leaves
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 medium sized carrot
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 1 medium tomato, finely chopped
- 6 to 7 green beans
- ¼ cup capsicum, finely chopped
- ¼ cup boiled/frozen peas
- ¼ tsp turmeric powder
- ½ tsp cumin powder
- ½ tsp red chili powder
- 1/2 tsp garam masala powder
- 2 tbsp fresh coriander, finely chopped
- finely chopped piece of ginger
- salt to taste
How to Make Masala Oats recipe step By step
- First of all wash all the vegetables and cut them finely.
2.Now put a pan on the gas and let it get hot. As soon as the pan gets hot, pour 2 tbsp oil in the pan.
5.Now add all the spices like turmeric powder, garam masala powder, cumin powder, Kashmiri red chilli powder and salt. Slow down the gas flame while adding the spices. Otherwise the spices may burn. If the masala is sticking, add little water.
6.Now we will add chopped tomatoes and mix it, cover it for 1 minute, so that the tomatoes get cooked well. Keep the flame of the gas medium, with the help of a spoon, mash the tomatoes well.
7.Now we will add curry leaves, I have used very fresh curry leaves because its flavor is very good in oats. You can also skip if you don’t like it.
8.Mix everything well and now add all the chopped vegetables. Mix the vegetables well and add little water so that the vegetables do not burn.
9.Now cover and cook the vegetables for 1 minute. You can add more vegetables of your choice. Keep in mind that we cook the vegetables lightly so that their crunch remains intact.
11.Now add water and cover and cook for 4 to 5 minutes. Kept stirring in between. Your Masala Oats are ready, now open the lid and add chopped coriander leaves. Mix it well and then Switch off the gas.

- And cook the onions till they turn light golden brown. Keep in mind that you have to fry the onion lightly golden, just till it becomes light in color.
- Now add all the spices like turmeric powder, garam masala powder, cumin powder, Kashmiri red chilli powder and salt.
- Slow down the gas flame while adding the spices. Otherwise the spices may burn.
- If the masala is sticking, add little water.
- Now we will add chopped tomatoes and mix it, cover it for 1 minute, so that the tomatoes get cooked well.
